Nikhil Mutyal, PhD, is Executive Director and Head of Search & Evaluation for Respiratory & Immunology at AstraZeneca, where he leads global business development efforts across therapeutic areas, modalities, and stages of development. Prior to joining AstraZeneca, Nikhil held senior business development and licensing roles across leading biopharmaceutical companies. He was Executive Director in BD&L at Merck & Co., and previously Head of Oncology Business Development at Jazz Pharmaceuticals. Earlier in his career, he also held roles at AVEO Oncology, building extensive experience across deal-making, licensing, and strategic partnerships. He earned his PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Northwestern University and has completed management training at the Kellogg School of Management.
